Thank you to Catalkoy Beledeyesi

❗thank you❗
A major thank you to Çatalköy Belediyesi for arriving so quickly and helping us to save our dogs!
On arrival at the Centre this morning, Elaine found 2 dogs salivating and realised very quickly that a nest of processionary caterpillars had worked their way into the dog compound.
Quick thinking by the staff and a blue lighted vet visit and the dogs are fine.
Çatalköy- Esentepe Belediyesi arrived with 30 minutes of being called to spray the area, saving more visits and potential lives…

Happy Ever After for Nicky.

We love it when one of our centre dogs finds a forever home and today’s homing is rather special. Nicky, after being with us for over 11 years, has gone to live with Jane here in North Cyprus. After all these years, she gets to spend her twilight years in a loving home – as you can imagine, a few tears were shed when she left the centre for the last time.
Nicky had been with us since July 2011 when she was dumped at the KAR shop along with her 2 siblings. Her brother and sister, Nick & Nipper, were homed many years ago but poor Nicky got left behind.
Enjoy your new home comforts Nicky, we will miss you but know that you will have the best life with Jane. Happy days Nicky!

Eric’s Update……

Maggie Smith has just updated us with Eric’s life over the last 12 months, since she kindly took him into her home. Here’s Eric’s tale, we hope you enjoy reading it!
The story of Eric : part 2
A whole year has passed since I brought Eric back from KAR Rescue Centre to live with me.
He has experienced his first ‘family’ Christmas, and didn’t need any mistletoe to give his ‘sister’ Ruby a kiss! He was also very sure which Christmas toy he wanted!
In fact, Eric has had a lot of new experiences in the last year: along with the other three dogs he has twice been to boarding kennels and loved coming back home so much that he did his usual trick of dunking himself in the water bowl! Then onto his favourite chair and didn’t move until teatime! He has also been to the beauty parlour, and returned looking very pleased with himself. Having at least one of the other dogs with him in potentially stressful conditions has helped him, and he is happy to be with any of them.
Eric has become more confident, he will approach visitors, and will often offer a welcoming paw. He has a real sense of fun …. he sometimes collects the toys and puts them on his chair, but is never aggressive. His mealtime tap dance up on his hind legs is hilarious and has me laughing every time.
To stop him pushing in front and snatching a treat before anyone else, is still a work in progress, he knows he should sit and wait, but he is just too excited!
Dogs love routine, and having the others around has helped Eric, but he now has the confidence to do his own thing, like deciding not to go out when it’s raining, and sitting on the settee when he thinks I’m not looking! He is fantastic with the cats and often shares his chair with a couple of them.
For a dog who has spent nearly twelve years of his life in a Rescue Centre, I think he is amazing, and shows that he must have had some very good care.
Not every old dog will be as easy to re home as Eric, but any one of them would be a character and would appreciate some home comforts in their old age. Especially now winter is here.
Please visit the Rescue Centre, I am sure there is one who will tug at your heart strings.

Our Oakley

This beautiful young pup is Oakley and she is looking for her forever home.
She is now about 5 months old and has had her vaccinations. Oakley is very friendly and just loves people. Can you offer this sweet girl a home – it would be wonderful if you could.
If you would like to meet Oakley then please come up to our rescue centre here in North Cyprus. We are open to visitors every day between 9am and 1pm.
Please share for Oakley – thank you!

Our Jack.

Jack says Hello and please give me a home!
This handsome boy is now 6 months old and came into the centre with his Mum. He is a lively, friendly dog who would just love a big, secure garden to run around in and explore. Mum was a cocker spaniel so we don’t think Jack will grow much bigger.
He is vaccinated and will be neutered before homing. If you think Jack would be a perfect addition to your family, then please come up to the rescue centre and take him for a walk. He would…

update on Violet.

We are pleased to report that Violet has recovered from the surgery on her leg. You may remember she was the victim of a hit & run and left with a broken leg and some broken teeth. Poor Violet, she was in such pain when she was first found.
That is all behind her now, she is becoming more confident and this is her appeal for a forever home. Just look at her sweet face, she would make a wonderful companion for someone! Violet is a very friendly girl, she gets on well with other dogs and she would just love a family to take care of her. She’s just started her vaccinations and she will also be microchipped.
If you think Violet would like to come and live with you, then please come up to the rescue centre and meet her. The centre is open every day between 9am and 1pm.
Violet says “Thank you for reading my story and please, please share for me!!”
