HOW TO HELP KAR?

HELP KAR

Kyrenia Animal Rescue Centre has more than enough cats and dogs – now it needs PEOPLE!!.

PART TIME STAFF – will need to enjoy hands on hard work with the animals. The hours are from 8am to 4pm (1 or 2 days per week) and transport can be arranged from East Kyrenia.

MEET & GREET Volunteers are needed to show visitors around the Centre during opening times. (9am – 1pm)You need to be outgoing, friendly and like people as well as cats and dogs. This is a great chance to help out without having to be “hands on”

ODD JOBBERS needed – if you are handy with a hammer, pretty good with a paintbrush, or just hardworking and able then we have plenty of repairs and maintenance that need your attention. If you can spare ANY time to volunteer it would be a great help to KAR.

Help to raise funds for KAR under our initiative called ‘Cash for KAR’.

·       Hold a coffee morning for your friends and neighbours
·       Organise a sponsored walk (Keeps you fit as well).
·       Run a Quiz Night
·       Have a Ten Pin Bowling evening
·       Or a Darts match
·       Do you have a lovely garden? Why not open it for others to see?

The possibilities are endless
We will support you with an information pack, and any help you may need, and say thank you very much for the money!!!

Please email or call the KAR office for more info or to discuss any of the above.

Thanks (in anticipation)

We receive no government assistance for the work we do with the neglected, injured and homeless animals of North Cyprus. We rely on people who give generously of their time or money (sometimes both).
There are so many ways you can help the animals. Our list is endless. Whatever you can give, large or small will be gratefully received and every bit of it will go to help the animals of North Cyprus.

Legacy

Legacies are VITAL to Kyrenia Animal Rescue. A legacy will ensure that the life saving work of the Kyrenia Animal Rescue can continue for years to come.

How can I leave a legacy to KAR?
There are a number of ways you can leave a gift to KAR:

  • Residuary
A residuary legacy is a gift of the residue of your estate, or a percentage of the residue (the amount left after your debts have been settled and any legacies you leave to other people have been paid). If you leave your whole estate as a gift, this is also known as a residuary legacy. The value of such a gift is least likely to be cut by inflation.

  • Pecuniary
A gift of a specified sum of money, decided when the will or codicil is written, is called a pecuniary legacy.

  • Specific
If you make a gift of a particular item this is called a specific legacy. This includes stocks and shares, the proceeds of a life assurance policy, property, furniture and jewellery.
Wording your legacy

If you decide to make a will in favour of KAR, you will need to contact your solicitor and tell them what you want to do. He or she will need to know the form of words that are usually used when including KAR in a will, for example, the following words can be used:

“I give …… to the Girne Hayvanları Kurtarma Derneği, PO Box 450, Mersin 10, Turkey. I further direct that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of Girne Hayvanları Kurtarma Derneği for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.

The centre is open to visitors daily from 9am – 1pm

  • Offer a home to one of the beautiful dogs or cats in our care.
  • Walk some of the dogs in the shade of the Five Finger Mountain, they are all eager for walkies.
  • See the work that we do and enjoy getting to know the animals.
  • Choose an animal to Sponsor – click here to find out more!
  • Bath or groom some of the animals.
  • Spend some time playing and socializing with the dogs and cats.

There is always so much to do and the animals enjoy a visit or two!

Dog Walking

Is a very enjoyable experience for both you and the dogs. The walks take place in the beautiful countryside of the Five Fingers Mountain range. We provide a small map which gives you routes you can take which can be a short distance along level ground or longer distance on tracks near the top of the mountain with stunning views. Also tracks that lead to the nearby café! We provide an information sheet with a few do’s and don’ts! and make it a rule that no more than two dogs per adult are taken at one time, the staff will help you choose dogs suitable for you. Away from the centre the dogs can be let off their leads to enjoy a good run around. Don’t worry they know their way back, and more importantly, they know exactly when feeding times are! Some visitors find that one or more of the ‘house’ dogs, will join them, even though they were not invited! One couple went for a walk with four dogs and one of the terriers in compound A decided that he wasn’t going to be left behind and opened two gates. The couple were joined by another fifteen dogs with smiles on their faces and tails wagging like mad!
Many visitors come year after year to walk the dogs and say that it is highlight of their holiday.

BUT OUR ULTIMATE AIM IS TO FIND HOMES FOR ALL THE DOGS AND CATS IN OUR CARE.

WHY NOT VISIT OUR RESCUE CENTRE AND SEE OUR BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS.
