The last Tuesday of February each year is recognized as World Spay Day. It’s a day to promote the sterilization of pets and stray cats & dogs as a way to save animals’ lives.
This day shines a spotlight on the lifesaving power of spay/neuter and the need for affordable services.

Records have been smashed this week. Our fabulous Vet Team and Cat Catchers have smashed their personal best… 34 cats neutered in a 3 day period. Well done to all involved. Take a bow. You deserve it!!!!

Lucky Lucky Luka
Do you remember last year we sent out an appeal to find Luka’s owner – after he had been found wandering on the streets by some visitors last August.
Luka’s picture had been soon on here and he captured the hearts of Issie and Adam. Adam flew over to meet him and Luka was adopted . Issie and Adam are regular visitor here and they wanted to take him home to the UK. However it had already become apparent that Luka was not settling well at our Rescue Center (where he had been since we were unable to find his original owner) and everyone was worried how he would cope during the 4 month time he needed to be prepared for the UK. He was depressed and was also feeling very very anxious being up there – not all dogs can settle into shelter life even for a limited time. Continue reading “Lucky Lucky Luka”
We are asking you to create a Lent bag for KAR.
You can choose a Goody Lent Bag or a Donation Lent Bag or a mix of both.
Every day of Lent we would like you to give up one item and put it into your KAR Lent bag.
Items, for example, in the Donation bag could be an unwanted piece of clothing, shoes, household item such as ornaments etc.
Ideas for the Goody Bag are a bag of dried pasta, rice, multivitamins, dog/cat treats, worming tablets etc.
At the end of Lent (finishes April 18th) please bring your KAR Lent bags to the KAR office in Karakum.
So start looking out for items now ready to go into your Lent bag – Lets all Lent a hand to help the animals in our care.
