Join Kyrenia Animal Rescue’s Charity Fashion Show & Fundraiser for a fun evening and a chance to give back to our furry friends 🫶

Because this time… the devil wears paw-da 🐾👠

A date for your diaries!
We have a fantastic evening planned for Thursday 4th June at the Pia Bella hotel. Come along and join us for a Fashion Show & Dinner, tickets cost just £20/1,200tl and are available from our office/shop in Ozankoy. There will be lots of beautiful clothes being modelled and the proceeds go towards the care of our dogs and cats at the rescue centre.

We can now announce the amazing total from Thursdays Fashion Show..

But first.

thank you’s aren’t enough, but it’s all we have and they are heartfelt.

Erol and everyone at The Tropicana, who humped tables, found extra chairs and we never wanted for anything

All our volunteers who just arrived and said… ‘what can we do to help?’

Jane and Julie for supplying the food and cakestands (all donated free of charge).

We dedicated this Fashion Show to our dear and departed ‘Pammie’ who we remember and miss all the time, but especially during a Fashion Show.

KAR FASHION SHOW – TUESDAY 15^TH OCTOBER 2019 – CLUB TROPICANA, OZANKOY

The weather held….. just!!! For the 4^th KAR Fashion show. There was a bolt for the indoors towards the end, but on the whole, a fabulous dry day was had.

The aim? Simple, to continue the work of KAR and improve the facilities at the centre. Since 2017 the Fashion Show has primarily contributed towards the creation of the Vet Room, the quarantine area, shading for the summer and the glorious new play area. Also the October Fashion Show will assist in the vet treatments needed to protect the dogs and cats moving forward into 2020.

To thank everyone individually would take hours and hours. So To everyone involved THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.

The laughter, the banter, the sun , the venue, the music all contributed to this fun day out.

The appearance of ‘members of the Royal Family’ at the Garden Party was appreciated as was the flag waving and National Anthem.

‘The Tropicana Flashers’ performed to the Full Monty’s ‘Keep Your Hat On’, with plenty of non PC, wolf whistling, stamping of feet. And they did….. keep it on!!!!

Eric our star from the Centre, enjoyed his day and had lots of love, but is still waiting for his furever home…. So please remember this is ALL for the 300 dogs and 50 cats still waiting for their happy every after.

So…… the amount raised? Another staggering 8200TL. So from everyone involved and especially Jacky Kester you star, THANK YOU

Our usual supplier can no longer help and our supplies are running really low. If you know of anyone in the Girne area who would be willing to provide us with sawdust, please let us know.

SMARTIE – DUMPED AT THE CENTRE & RAN LOOSE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO CATCH HIM. HE FREQUENTLY OUTSMARTED US (HENCE HIS NAME) BY MANAGING TO EAT THE FOOD WE PUT IN THE TRAP WITHOUT TRIGGERING THE DOOR! HE IS VERY NERVOUS – EVEN NOW……..

MACK – CAME IN AS A PUP IN 2011. VERY FRIENDLY & GETS ON WELL WITH HIS BEST FRIEND FRANKIE! WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING HIS MEDICATION, HE SITS & WAITS ON TOP HIS KENNEL TO BE GIVEN HIS TABLET, THEN WILL JUMP ALL OVER YOU WITH EXCITEMENT!……

BONNY – ONE OF OUR OLDER GIRLS, WITH US SINCE 2009! LIKES TO BARK & SAY HELLO WHENEVER ANYONE PASSES HER KENNEL. SHE LOVES TO GO OUT FOR WALKS WITH HER BEST FRIEND MARDO…….

DAISY – BROUGHT INTO US AT THE END OF LAST YEAR WITH AN OLD BREAK TO HER BACK LEFT LEG. SHE WAS ONLY ABOUT 6 MONTHS OLD WHEN SHE ARRIVED. BACK LEG VERY WEAK SO WAS AMPUTATED A FEW MONTHS AGO, SHE MANAGES JUST FINE ON 3 LEGS. A VERY LOVING GIRL…..

TASSIE – FOUND DUMPED AT THE TOP OF THE LANE TO THE CENTRE ALONG WITH A PUPPY (NOT HERS) DURING THE DISTEMPER OUTBREAK. THANKFULLY SHE TESTED NEGATIVE FOR THE DISEASE. SHE LOVES CUDDLES & GETS VERY CROSS IF SHE IS IGNORED!……

THE FOLLOWING CATS ARE SEEKING SPONSORSHIP (MIN. £10/MONTH) OR ADOPTION

DORA – she’s just over 2 years old, came in as a small kitten. Enjoys a fuss when she’s eating her dinner but otherwise is quite a reserved cat. She gets on with her cattery friends and loves playing with toys.

RALF – a street cat who came to us this year after being hit by a car. He had an injury to one of his legs, which has now healed but he only has half a tail as a result of the accident. His party trick is to drop off the beam on to our cat lady when she goes in to feed him as he can’t wait for his food! Loves his food and is very affectionate.

BRADLEY – a very handsome boy. Has been with us for 3 years. Gets on well with other cats and loves cuddles.

MICKY & MONTY – double trouble. They are brothers who love playing rough and looking very innocent afterwards as if to say “It wasn’t us!!”

OLLIE – less than a year old but has eyesight problems, we’re not sure how much he can see. Very friendly but a bit shy – he’s getting used to his new friends in the cattery.
