Tenable at The Fez – the result.

We have been on a bit of a downer at KAR recently,  but we have picked ourselves up, dusted ourselves down and as always Kept Calm and Carried On Caring. This has been helped by the wonderful support that we have within the community – both here and abroad. Last night saw how that support helps.
We held a Tenables Night at The Fez in Catalkoy. We have never done it before and did not know how it would “pan out”. The Fun Four ( Karen, Kim, Bob and Terry) had been working hard at putting everything together – hoping for a good night for both KAR and th participants,
Well it was a smash !!! Loads of people turned up and showed their support (not just in donation form) for KAR. The whole of The Fez buzzed with support for what we do here in TRNC.
The Fez did KAR proud (not that there was ever any doubt) with a delicious Menu and a special meal deal ( with part of the money being donated to KAR).
The Tenables Quiz was enjoyed along with a Surprise Raffle and a few games of Card Bingo. Even those who usually think/say ” NOT BINGO “! once they started the games really enjoyed it – so much so that “Just 1 More – another 1” was heard at the end of the games.
In between and after the games Terry entertained everyone with his lovely voice – there were balads, motown and good old sing a longs.
It was a fantastic evening and everyone enjoyed themselves.
To top it all off a FANTASTIC 2980TL (including a 300TL donation from The Fez) and £120 was raised to help KAR help the cats and dogs.
Thank you everyone who came along and helped raise the money , thank you to The Fez and their staff who worked so hard at keeping everyone fed and watered.
Team KAR – you did it again !

Thank you Slimmers World Catalkoy!!!!!

A very BIG Thank you from all of the KAR cats and dogs to Slimming World Catalkoy – they have raised a fantastic 2300TL for KAR. Their support is so very much appreciated and the money is so needed – especially now that the summer heat has hit. Many people maybe do not realise that the center is not on mains water – every drop that we use (for cleaning, animal drinking etc) has to come up in tankers – what a lot it costs us every couple of days !
Thank you slimmers – your loss is KAR’s gain.

Pasha now Lily – happy ending.

Do you remember Pasha ? Back in April we were asking if anyone recognised her – She understood commands in English and was very well behaved so we were fairly sure that she had come from an English home. Well no one came forward to claim her.
Then we featured her asking for a new “Furever” home…..Pretty Pasha caught the eye of Denise but she was worried as she had her own handsome hunk at home ….her beloved Rocky (the rotti). After many talks and thoughts it was decided that Denise should foster Pasha to see how she got on with Rocky and how she was at home. It was agreed that if it didn’t work out or if Pasha and Rocky didn’t hit it off that she would go back to the Center immediately. After 2 weeks it was clear that Pasha and Rocky were besties … it was also clear that Denise was also smitten with Pasha and vice versa …..so Pasha is now Lily and she has been “at home” for several weeks now and is well and truly part of the family.
Happy Days Lily.

Whenever a cat or dog is homed from our KAR Rescue Center it is always made clear that IF there are any problems the owner should come back to us to discuss the problem and we WILL help as much as we can. The same is true for our foster carers – we WILL help as much as we can and we WILL take the foster animal back if the placement is not working for either the foster carer or the cat/dog.
Please if you can offer a foster placement (or a furever home) for one of our cats or dogs contact us or visit the Rescue Center to have a chat.
We have so many who need you.
