UPDATE FROM LUCKY

Remember our story about Lucky back in the Autumn and how he found his furever home in Canada? Well here is an update from his new mum, Honey.
“Merry Christmas! Here are some updates from Lucky! His first Christmas and New Year in Canada! We love him to the moon❤️ 🌲❤️
Safe to say he is one very much loved and pampered pet now! Enjoy your life in Canada Lucky!

UPDATE FROM DAISY

Do you remember Daisy – our little 3 legged girl who was adopted (and flew to UK the other month) ? Well we have just received an update from Jenny.
” Hi All,
I just wanted you all to know that Daisy is fine and doing well. She is still a bit anxious about her position in the household with the other dogs but there have been no real issues and she gains confidence all the time. She is eating well and now enjoys her tripe sticks too!! She has gained some weight and her coat is really filling out now, poor thing , it needed to because she arrived in such a cold period! I will send you some video and pictures soon but I will just do a quick one for you now. She sends her love and says thank you to you all.😘
Thank YOU Jenny – for giving her the chance of a special home of her very own.
It is a KAR policy that our cats and dogs are adopted by loving caring families before they even begin their travel prep. During their travel prep (approx 4 months) we are in touch with their new family giving them updates, about their cat/dog, and keeping them in the “loop” so to speak.
If you are interested in “adopting” any of our dogs/cats please contact us on kartrnc@gmail.com.

HANDAN AT HOME

We recently received the following from Lisa and wanted to share it with you all as many of you had been following Handan’s Tale.
” Hi Kim,
I thought I’d give you another update!
Our groomer came yesterday and Handan just had a bath and some fuss and was a very good girl! She’s really fancying herself now she’s all poofy and has her special Christmas bow.
I am amazed that she mastered toilet training within 24 hours and just got into a routine straight away. I’d like to say that it’s my amazing dog skills but actually she just seemed to twig what my other two dogs were doing and that was it! She’s great with other dogs on her walks and doesn’t react to any yapping ones we pass. She’s a champion napper too as you’ll see from the pictures and so snuggly. It’s all been far easier than I was expecting.
Before Handan came my husband and I were really struggling with grief after losing our dog Keo earlier in the year. The tumour took her so quickly and so young at 9 and we were so shocked and sad. We got Handan in honour of Keo and because something positive needed to come out of something so awful. I thought it would be very unfair to put the expectation on Handan to “mend our broken hearts”, but I have to say that she is doing it anyway and I’m convinced that you actually sent us a little Christmas angel in disguise. She is really living up to her name and has brought us real Joy. We’ll never forget Keo but Handan is absolutely magic and we adore her.
I’ll check in again in the new year. We’re taking her to a cottage by the sea in Norfolk in February so I’ll hopefully send you some pictures of her running on the beach with those big long legs 🙂
Have a lovely Christmas,
Lots of love from
Lisa, Mark, Fozzy, Scooter and Handan xxxx”
Happy Days and Happy Christmas and New Year Handan x

UPDATE ON BUTTONS

Good News for Christmas! Buttons had the operation on his spleen last Monday. The good news is that the vet was very pleased with how the operation went and after an overnight stay at the vet’s he has been taken to a foster home to help him recuperate. It was thought best for him to go to a foster home because it is bitterly cold and wet in the rescue centre and we want to do the best we can to give him a chance to recover from the operation.
Here are some photos of Buttons sporting a very trendy blue collar in his new foster home. These new collars are so much more comfortable than the traditional cones.

HETTY

Wasn’t it wonderful to read Handan’s tale and see the lovely photos of her in her new home? We have so many wonderful dogs at the centre just waiting for their forever homes and today it is Hetty’s turn to appeal for someone to fall in love with her.
We posted Hetty’s video during the summer, but this beautiful girl is still looking for her forever home.
Hetty is another of our long term residents. She came to us back in 2014 when she was just a tiny puppy – she was found at one of the local restaurants all on her own – goodness knows what happened to her Mum and siblings.
She is a very sweet little girl who loves to go for walks, especially now that the weather is cooler, and she gets on well with other dogs. We are amazed that such a lovely dog has spent 7 years at the rescue centre and we really would like to find her a forever home.
Our rescue centre is open every day between 9am and 1pm so please come and meet her if you are interested.
Even if you can’t offer Hetty a home, you can sponsor her for just £10 a month – please e-mail our office kartrnc@gmail.com for more information.

SHANDY

This is Shandy’s second appeal for a forever home – we were really disappointed that she didn’t receive any interest when we posted her video earlier this year. So we are trying again for this lovely girl!
This delightful girl is Shandy, one of our larger dogs. She has been with us for 5 years now, having arrived as a small puppy. As you can see, she is a big softy – she loves being walked and cuddled, not at the same time though! Sandy lives with other dogs so we know that she gets on well with them and she is also happy around children. We would be so pleased for her if she found her forever home at last.
Please contact us if you would like to come and meet her or even if you can’t offer her a home, you can sponsor Sandy for just £10 a month. Please share for Sandy and fingers crossed, we can find a forever home for her!

NICKY

This lovely lady is Nicky, one of our older dogs at the rescue centre.
Nicky was found with her 2 siblings outside one of our charity shops back in 2011 – 10 years ago! They were just tiny puppies when they were found but they all thrived and two of them found their forever homes soon afterwards. Nicky wasn’t so lucky and got left behind.
She is a quiet, gentle girl and we are so sad that she has spent most of her life at the centre. Nicky and all the other dogs and cats at our rescue centre in North Cyprus are cared for and loved by our wonderful centre staff and volunteers but a rescue centre is no place for a dog to spend her whole life.
Can you offer this sweet senior dog a home so she can finally live in comfort? Please come up to the centre and meet Nicky – we are open 7 days a week 9am to 1pm. Please share for Nicky & thank you for watching her video.
