UPDATE FROM DAISY

An Update from Jennifer who adopted Daisy from KAR
” Dear All,
I hope you are all well and things are going well for you there.
I thought I would just touch base to let you know that Daisy is well and happy. We currently have a storm here today so she is not very happy at this precise moment as she is very afraid of the wind! Bless her little heart, she is such a timid little girl in many ways and yet she surprises you sometimes too! I’m taking her to Cornwall tomorrow with Barry, my Basset hound, which I hope she will enjoy. I’m attaching a couple of pictures of her in our local woods.
She sends licks and kisses to you all.”
The last 2 photos are of Barry and Daisy on their holidays.
Happy Days Daisy (and Barry too ) xxx

THANK YOU LIZ AND REBECCA

Liz and Rebecca came to the office this morning bringing a very welcome donation of food for our animals at the Rescue Centre. They also mentioned they might pop up to the Rescue Centre during their holiday to have a look around and maybe take one of our dogs for a walk. Thank you ladies for your support.
Our Rescue Centre is open 7 days a week from 9am to 1pm for visitors to have a look around, take dogs for walks, do a bit of grooming etc. All our visitors are guaranteed a very warm woofy welcome.

CENTRE REPAIRS UPDATE

The much needed weather proofing work (we are using some of the very kind donation from Micropets) has begun. Hopefully we will have a lovely dry kennel block area in the not too distant future.

BELLE UPDATE

We are delighted to announce that Belle, the last of the 2 “B” puppies, has found her forever home!
Belle’s 2 sisters found homes a couple of weeks ago and we were so worried that she would get left behind. Then along came Huseyin & Susan and they fell in love with Belle, she’s a very lucky girl!
Here’s the happy trio as they left the centre – Belle now gets to enjoy a lovely new life. Another happy ending – how wonderful is that??

BUTTONS UPDATE

2 months ago, on Christmas Eve, we gave you all the good news that Buttons had come through the operation on his spleen and was being looked after by foster carers Jean and Richard.
Well today we’ve got even better news!! Jean and Richard have decided to adopt Buttons and give him the happy furever after home he so deserves. They have given him the nick name of Houdini because of all the funny antics he gets up to.
Thank you Jean and Richard. Here are some photos of Buttons (before and after) so you can all see the progress that has been made. This would not have been possible without all the generous donations we received from YOU our fabulous supporters and friends. Thank you all very much.

WORLD SPAY DAY

WORLD SPAY DAY
We love World Spay Day on February 22! It might sound harsh, but the truth is, failing to spay and neuter dogs and cats is responsible for millions of unwanted animals living on the streets without homes or food. So while it might make you twinge to think of a day celebrating animal sterilization, the truth is, the pain of putting all those animals down is far harsher.
KAR runs a very successful Trap, Neuter, Return scheme here in TRNC. To make use of this scheme, whether it is 1 cat causing a problem or a group of them, please contact our office on kartrnc@gmail.com and we can arrange an appointment to have the cat spayed or to have our Cat Catchers come along if there are a few cats to be caught. Last year we successfully spayed 473 cats which is fantastic when you take into account Covid, lockdown and extremely hot summer.

NATIONAL WALK THE DOG DAY

February 22 is National Walking the Dog Day! This day combines two of the most happy-making things we have in this life: dogs and exercise. Humans love walking with their four-legged friends, and pooches love their strolls with their people. So grab your walking shoes, a leash, and some treats for the road, and take your favorite pooch for a stroll to celebrate National Walking the Dog Day!
If you haven’t got a dog of your own to walk we have literally hundreds for you to choose from at our Rescue Centre. Please do come along and take one of our pooches for a walk. The centre is open 7 days a week from 9am to 1pm. You are guaranteed a warm woofy welcome.
