TODD

Meet Todd. This poor little chap was hit by a car in Karakum and was totally traumatised when he came into the rescue centre. It took some time for him to come out of his shell but he is now a very happy boy!
He even sings for us but we haven’t yet been able to capture that on video! In reality he throws his head back and makes funny howling noises but we like to call it singing!!
His coat was very matted when he first came in but thanks to a kind donation he was treated to a pamper session at Furever Pets Grooming. As you can see, they’ve done a great job and he now looks very handsome!
Todd is now looking for his forever home. We think he is about 2-3 years old, so still a young dog. If you think you might be interested in offering this lovely boy a home, then please come up to the centre and meet him – we are open every day between 9am and 1pm.

GUCCI

This beautiful young girl is Gucci and today she is appealing for her forever home.
Gucci is one of our husky-cross litter and she is coming up to 10 months old. As you can see from the video, she is not a very big dog so she won’t take up too much room!
She would just love a secure garden so she can explore and play – she will make a wonderful companion for someone. Is that person you??
As with all our dogs, Gucci has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Next on her list is that elusive loving home.
If you would like to come and meet Gucci, we would love to see you. The rescue centre is open every day between 9am and 1pm.

TEDDY & TARA

We posted a video of Teddy and Tara after they were first brought into the rescue centre and we hoped by now that they would have found loving homes. Sadly there has been no interest in these 2 cute puppies so we need to try again!
They are now 17 weeks old and are typical, healthy pups. They love to play, they are very inquisitive and like all puppies, they love a cuddle. We really don’t want them to spend the rest of their lives at the rescue centre, it would be so sad.
Teddy and Tara would love for you to come and meet them – opening hours are 9am to 1pm every day of the week. Please share for these two lovelies so we can find them each a loving, forever home.

MAVI & CHICO

Thank goodness that the snow has gone and our centre dogs can now enjoy some warmth and sunshine!
Here’s Mavi & Chico snuggling up together and taking in some rays. They are the best of friends and just love to spend time together.
We recently posted a video of each of them but sadly no-one has offered either of them a home. Chico (the husky/GSD type) is now about 11 months old and his friend Mavi is around 9 months old. They can be homed together or separately – if you think you might be interested, then please come up to the rescue centre and meet them. We are open 7 days a week, 9am to 1pm.

JOHN DYER

Following John’s untimely death, his family including his wife Lyn, daughter Karen and grand daughter Georgina, decided that as a life long supporter of rescued animals and especially KAR, that he would want donations to his favourite charity in lieu of flowers.
With this wish in mind, a donation box was placed at the Greenhills ceremony last week. There were fabulous donations on the day and also a very generous bank transfer direct into our Bank Account in the UK.
Our sympathy and thanks go to John’s family and friends. John and his memory will live on with all our charges at the Centre.
Thank you.

RODNEY, RUDY AND RUBY

Here is our latest litter of puppies looking for a forever home.
Meet Rodney, Rudy & Ruby – despite their differing sizes, they are siblings! No prizes for guessing which puppy is the greedy one!!
The pups are now about 9 weeks old and have had their first vaccination. All 3 are healthy, lively and wanting a loving home. If you would like to meet them, then you are more than welcome to come up to the centre and see them for yourself. We are open every day from 9am to 1pm.
Please share for Rodney, Rudy and Ruby – thank you!

LOOKING FOR MEETERS AND GREETERS

Now that the sun is shining, we have more visitors coming to the rescue centre. We are looking for Meeters & Greeters to welcome our visitors who are coming to the centre between the opening hours of 9am to 1pm. The role is explaining to visitors what we do and why we do it (a question we ask ourselves often !!!!) – explaining how they can help, showing them around the centre and generally being one of the front line faces for KAR. Our Rescue Centre is a happy place – a place where our 300+ cats and dogs can live safely, happily and being loved until their own FUREVER family finds them. If you feel that you can help us, even just 1 morning per week with this very important aspect of our work – please contact the office by email on kartrnc@gmail.com or phone on 0533 869 4098

THANK YOU GIRNE BELEDIYESI

As we all know everything is going up in price and that includes the cost of our Rescue Centre water deliveries which have increased by a massive 50%!

We contacted Girne Belediyesi to see if they could help us with our plight and they very kindly donated 6 tons of water free of charge.

Thank you Girne Belediyesi

ARE YOU FLYING TO TRNC WITH BA OR TUI?

UK holidaymakers travelling to TRNC in 2022 – please be aware if you’re flying with TUI or British Airways via Larnaca or Paphos, , you can apply for free additional charity baggage allowance to bring donated items with you.
The scheme runs by REQUEST and is subject to space on the aircraft. To apply, the airline needs on letterheaded paper from the nominated charity a request letter, with the passenger details, flight date, flight number and booking reference. Once in receipt of the letter the passenger then emails the request letter to the airline. If approved a confirmation is sent directly to the passenger to take to the airport.
It’s that simple! Any donations must be packed separately from the passenger’s personal luggage and labelled as Charity Baggage. Most use a box or old suitcase that does not need to be taken back on the return journey.
Before travelling this year, please drop us an email ( kartrnc@gmail.com )to see if there are any items such as dog and cat wormers, leads, harnesses, food bowls, medications etc, that you could bring over to us using this scheme.
