Wally the wedding guest!

One of our dogs, who now lives in the UK, was recently the perfect guest at Victoria and Tom’s wedding. Doesn’t Wally look handsome with his special bow tie?

Wally and his siblings came into our rescue centre with their Mum, and all have been very lucky and found homes. We think that Wally enjoyed his day at the wedding, he looks like he’s loving all the attention!

We’re sure you’re all keen to hear how Chiquita is getting on! She has been to the vets and had an ultrasound – the vet believes her puppies are due in about 7-10 days’ time.

Thank you to all of you that have donated towards Chiquita’s care, so far we have raised about £250 (10,500tl). Niyazi at Petline has kindly donated a box of his new dog biscuits for her, they are specially designed for small breed dogs – perfect for Chiquita.

StreetPaws@KAR received a distress call on Monday from a Catalkoy resident asking for help with a dumped and very pregnant chihuahua. Our volunteer arrived to find the caller’s own dogs very agitated and the terrified young chihuahua hiding somewhere in their large garden. Despite the pressure on our resources we could not live with ourselves if we didn’t help.

This handsome boy is Rex and today he is appealing for his forever home.

Rex was surrendered to the Centre by Girne Beledeyesi along with his siblings back in 2017. He was 3 months old and he has been with us ever since. He has never known a home life…. are you that elusive happy ever after? 7 years is enough, surely?

Rex is very friendly and gets on with other dogs – a cosy bed of his own and a garden to chill out in isn’t much to ask for.

If you think you would like to offer Rex a home, then please come up to the rescue centre and meet him. He would love to see you! We are open every day between 9am and 1pm.

Even if you cannot offer him a home, you can sponsor him for just £10 a month – it is really easy to set up, please let us know if you would like to do this.

On Friday the first 3 lucky dogs from the 18 chosen and prepared to live in Germany, left the centre to start their new life. Max from Guzelyurt also travelled with them.

Naomi has been at the centre for over six years. She was thrown over the fence at the centre as a very sick puppy, thankfully she recovered and grew into the beautiful dog she is today.

Seamus and Silas are brothers and have been at the rescue centre for over 9 years – far too long. They were left in a Girne car park as puppies but were rescued and brought into our care.
