Miles.

πŸ’”MilesπŸ’”
Miles was found, a victim of hit and run last weekend.
A kind and caring couple found him in the road and took him to Animates as an urgent emergency.
They posted on social media for his owner as he is only 6 months old and had a collar and seemed well cared for.
Unfortunately no one has come forward.
KAR have now stepped in as he needed treatment as a matter of urgency.
He has had to have his leg pinned and whilst anaesthetised he was found to have a fractured tooth and mandible, and consequently has had his jaw wired.
He will be moved to the Centre on Thursday for a lengthy recovery.
Meanwhile we are asking for donations to help towards his operation and recovery.
Currently his bill stands at 8000TL (Β£235).
We as KAR are struggling with rising costs to care for our own animals, so really need donators to step up for Miles and cover his costs.
PayPal details and Bank details are on our website. Please mark any donation
‘MILES’
We will publish updates on his recovery.

huge support…… huge amount

πŸ“£amazing…. astonishing πŸ“£
We received an email yesterday from supporter and visitor Stephanie Evans, who had visited the Centre during the summer and returned to the UK determined to help the Centre.
The email states that Stephanie, has set up an Ebay account (first time), and started selling items….
It is an ongoing project but the staggering amount of Β£1500, has been raised so far.
Thank you to Stephanie, with dwindling funds and an increase in help needed across the island, the timing is perfect…
When you are sinking.. lifelines do appear…

ederner dog….. team work.

πŸ“£ederner dogπŸ“£
Finally, following numerous telephone calls and emails from concerned citizens, Ederner dog was sedated, removed and is safe at the Centre.
He has had a nasty leg wound for weeks if not months, but has turned nasty this week.
No one has been able to restrain him, so Girne Beledeyesi were asked to attend to ‘dart’ him, so he could be picked up.
This all happened very quickly yesterday! He was taken to Vetpoint, where before any treatment commenced, we requested his bloods be taken, which proved to be so low, treatment could not commence.
So, he is currently at the centre, waiting for a rise in his white blood cell count.
Then…. he will begin treatment and be neutered.
Big shout out to…
πŸ“£Girne Beledeyesi (dart team)
πŸ“£ NetAP (neutering Operation)
πŸ“£ Robert Astley (logistics)
πŸ“£ Street Paws at Kar (post operation medication)
πŸ“£Soley Schumacher-Rustem (logistics and transportation)
πŸ“£Yunus and Mehmet (transportation)
Without the above this dog would still be roaming the streets, slowly dying.
Thank you to all that helped. We will keep you all updated.
