Lambousa Market – bedding for the centre dogs…

Lambousa Market are selling cheap blankets (15TL) and Towels…. please if you can purchase a few for the dogs and puppies at the centre. You can drop them off at Veni Vici in Lapta for collection. It really will be appreciated. Our Centre is still very wet and the dogs need something to bed down on. Our puppies are not ‘house trained’ so need constant replacement of bedding….. please dig deep and help the centre dogs.

New drop off point for ‘softies’ – please help.

Veni Vici Restaurant on the Lapta strip have very kindly offered to be a drop off point for ‘softies’ for the centre. So if you have any old towels, blankets, sheets, etc, we URGENTLY need them for the dogs and puppies at the centre. The terrible weather at the weekend has left our dogs struggling for bedding. Please help if you can.

Lucy needs you…..

Lucy (we love Lucy)
Lucy’s life did not begin well. A small tiny puppy dumped, in the storm, like a piece of rubbish in a villa garden.
Poor little Lucy
Lucy was lucky the caring tourists found her shivering, wet and all alone under the shrubs in the garden where they were holidaying.
Lucky little Lucy
Lucy was dried off, given much needed food, given cuddles and some much needed TLC
Lucky little Lucy
The tourists contacted KAR asking for help – sadly KAR could not help immediately as they were full – she needed to go their waiting list.
Poor little Lucy
A KAR foster carer was contacted and thankfully offered to take Lucy in temporarily as the tourists were returning home.
Lucky little Lucy
She has been health checked, wormed and her inoculations started and she is 6 weeks and is a healthy happy puppy.
Lucky little Lucy.
She has shown that she is ok with cats and other dogs (albeit her little legs mean she cannot always keep up with them)
Lucky little Lucy.
She is semi house trained already and that will only improve with a little patience – and she loves her cuddles and toys.
Lucky little Lucy.
Her “foster carer” and KAR know that she can only stay in foster for a limited time and then she will have to go to the Rescue Centre – she will then just be one of many puppies just waiting and waiting.
Poor little Lucy.
Can you turn Lucy’s life around ? Do you have space in your heart and home for Little Lucy ? Can you help make Lucy’s life complete ? She doesn’t take up much room – we don’t think she is going to be a big dog (she seems Jack Russell cross type)- she won’t eat too much. We will arrange for her to be neutered when it is time. She just needs a home of her own.
Please open up your heart and home and let little Lucy come and live with you. Let us end her story with a Lucky little Lucy – Thanks to YOU.
(PS the rhino in the pictures has already been homed !)

URGENT: Bleach and Antibiotics needed.

PLEASE HELP! We are in desperate need of bottles of bleach, Klamoks 1000 & 625 and Flagyl at the rescue centre. Any donation however large or small will be most gratefully received – they can be dropped off at the rescue centre in Arapkoy or our office in Karakum. Thanks in anticipation!

Thank you to Lapta Mayor, Mustafa Aktug

THANK YOU TO LAPTA MAYOR MUSTAFA AKTUG

Two representatives from KAR had a successful meeting today with Mayor Mustafa Aktug. We discussed the situation of the dogs on the streets in the Lapta area and the problems that the local authorities are facing. We stressed to them the importance of control of the registration of owned dogs and neutering of those dogs that have no owners. We also discussed the law and the planning of the requirements of an animal shelter.

Margaret Ray said ‘We felt it was a very constructive meeting and thanked the Mayor for his time. We felt that it was a good beginning to our future relationship’.
