For 8 months this street cat has eluded capture… pregnancy after pregnancy, loss of numerous litters due to mothers failing health and poor diet.

Finally our Cat Whisperer Fiona… managed to catch her.. 8 long months.

She is neutered, medical issues dealt with and released to live her best life.

Fiona will continue to monitor her and provide the best diet she can.

Della and Donna weredumped by rubbish bins with 2 other siblings when they were 6 months old in Jan 2020.

The other siblings have found their forever home, but Donna and Della still waiting. Lovely friendly girls, small breed.

They are 3.5 years old, lovely quiet girls, obviously a daschie cross, so the temperament is calm and content.

Small breed girls, ideally homed together as the bond is very close. They have never been apart.

Most of you know the heartbreaking story of our ‘Jumper puppies’. After a terrible start in life and a sibling being murdered. They were rescued to the Centre.

They slowly got their happy ever afters, Buttercup was rehomed on 17th March, to a family in Ozankoy, following reference checks and home visits. In fact these photos are of her, once in her new home.

Earlier this week there was a plea from Iskele that a female dog had been taken to a vet following a RTA and was about to put back on the streets.

Elaine with her Eagle eye, immediately recognised the dog as Buttercup.

She had not only been abandoned by her new family, but taken to Iskele and dumped.

She is back at the centre with a healing injury from the RTA and severely traumatised.

All animal charities here, do what they can to ensure dogs are homed responsibly and checks are made where possible. It always sits at the back of your mind that it could end badly, but you have to have faith.

These 2 darlings arrived over NY and are currently doing their ‘quarantine’.

Every animal rescued by us, has to complete a period of the quarantine block.

This is why we are limited in rescues we can achieve at any one time..

If quarantine is full, we have nowhere to put them.

This poor cat with a large wound to its neck was found whilst Fiona was making her rounds, the cat has now been treated in situ.

We try wherever possible to help in situ as trapping a feral cat for treatment is distressing and unproductive.

Fiona recently treated 3 cats at SAH for cat flu on site.

Sometimes it’s better and less stressful.

Did you know? As a nonprofit organization, we rely completely on the support and generosity of people like you to continue doing what we do. What would we be without our amazing volunteers? Collectively, our volunteers donate more than 150,000 hours a year to our organization! Our volunteers are dedicated to the well-being of the pets in our care. They show up early to make sure every dog gets to go on a walk, and they stay late to make sure each cat gets the individual attention they deserve. They make cat houses and dog blankets so the pets in our care are comfortable. Our caring Fosters make sure our vulnerable foster animals have a good environment in which to grow or heal while they wait for their forever homes. Our ladies who run our shops 6 days a week, man our market stalls, organise our events…. Overall, our volunteers help ensure that many aspects of our shelter run without problems. Henry was dumped st SAH Supermarket as a puppy and left to fend on the outskirts of the already formed pack living there.

He was removed and taken to the Centre after a particular nasty fight.

He is a typical pointer, goofy and very loving.

He loves a walk and a cuddle…
