A group of Vets from vets from Switzerland, revisited the TRNC this week to offer free neutering for street cats and dogs.

The cats were/are being neutered in a veterinary surgery in Lefkosa.

Without pomp or ceremony, Fiona has daily been rounding up street cats and driving to Lefkosa. The weather here has been atrocious this week and driving conditions especially treacherous, but she never faulted.

Catching cats can be particularly difficult in bad weather. She didn’t falter.

A car load every day this week.

Then she monitors them in situ for a week, administering meds if needed.

Our heroes are unsung at KAR.

Jake was thrown from a speeding car in Catalkoy when he was 4 months old.

Traumatised and a scared of humans, his rehabilitation took a long time.

He is a quiet timid little boy, but is extremely loving and content in his own little world.

He really, genuinely would not be hard work, he is just grateful.

These beautiful girls were dumped at the centre with their 3 siblings in August 21 when they were just a couple of months old

.2 of their siblings have gone to the UK and their brother has gone to Germany. These stunning girls are gentle dogs.

Darby weighs just over 10kg and Gucci just over 11kg

If you dreamed of owning a husky, but the size has been an issue… these darlings are miniature huskies..

Students from final university Elina, Nazli, Mahmoud and Taha visited the shelter today, as part of a dissertation. They are are all also animal lovers.

They walked dogs and spent time socialising the cats. (Had major cuddles).

They bought supplies given as a shopping list by Elaine.

Genevieve and her 6 siblings were dumped at the centre when they were 6 weeks old in April 2021.

Four of her siblings have been homed, 2 remain.

Medium size dog. Social with humans and friendly with other dogs.

Vaccinated and neutered.

In July last year, we shared with you, Bobby who was a small rescued puppy, who had been found fending for himself on a rubbish tip.

Meanwhile our office had a visit from Cem, who was on holiday from Germany and staying locally. He had asked if we could help him find a puppy his family had shared their holiday with and wanted to take back to Germany.

Unfortunately the puppy was never found. But we asked Cem to take a look at our FB page and website…

There was our darling Bobby staring back at the family. Their eyes met and Cem fell hook line and sinker.

Last week with help from our German family (Yves and Steph), Cem travelled to the TRNC, met Bobby, and flew out with him to Germany on Friday.

We prepped Bobby for the family, keeping in touch with his progress and developments over the 4 months of prep.

It was so worth it. That chance meeting in the office, led to our SM and the rest, as they say is history.

Darling Bobby, have an amazing life.

In May 2022, she was bought to the Centre after an RTA, where it was also discovered she was pregnant. 4 kittens later, she blossomed into this beautiful regal young mother.

Now, her story needs completing as her kittens have now all been rehomed and it’s time for her happy ever after.

The rarity of a ginger female is also intriguing. So she is a definite talking point!

She likes her own space but is friendly towards other cats.

She would blossom as a house cat and does not demand attention.

This is her chance, her kids have left home… its now about her!

Her homing will be subject to references and home checks, our princess demands it!
