PIXIE

A little while ago our Rescue Center was visited by Gulru, Ben and Isabelle who were here on holiday from Turkey. Isabelle wanted to visit KAR Rescue Center to meet the dogs and to help her with a college project that she was working on . Up at the center they met Pixie (amongst other dogs) and were smitten . Travel preparations began and once she was ready, for travel to Turkey, the family came back over to collect her and took her to her new “furever” home in Turkey.
Happy days Pixie.

THE GRAND OPENING OF OUR CHRISTMAS GROTTO

Last Monday saw the grand opening of our Christmas Grotto at Gladrags in Karakum. We had a fleeting visit from Mrs Claus to do the ribbon cutting and then off she went again to help Santa and the elves get ready for Christmas. Here are some photos to mark the occasion.

Due to popular demand we will be holding a Tombola at our Christmas Markets on 27 November and 4 December and also on the 15 December when the Raffle will be drawn.
Please could we ask if you have any suitable donation for the Tombola that you drop it into our office in Karakum. The office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm. Get looking through those cupboards!!

GIZMO

You may remember the lovely video we posted a couple of weeks ago of Matilda helping us appeal for a home for Gizmo, one of the Huhuahua puppies. Unfortunately Gizmo hasn’t received any offers of a forever home, which is really disappointing.
So we are trying again with some delightful photos Matilda’s Mum & Dad took when they came to visit the centre and took the Huhuahas for a walk!
Gizmo is now about 6 months old and as you can see, he gets on very well with children!
He loves cuddles and he enjoys exploring! He just needs that forever home.
If you are interested, please come up to the centre to meet Gizmo. We are open to visitors 7 days a week, between 9am and 1pm.
Please share for Gizmo and fingers crossed, we can find a forever home for this lovely young boy.

KYRENIA ANIMAL RESCUE – GRAND RAFFLE

Our “world famous” (we can dream) Christmas Raffle will still be taking place this year and we are asking for your help with the prizes. Please could you check out your cupboards for any unwanted gifts, booze etc you may have received that would be okay as a raffle prize.
 
We are also putting together a Luxury Hamper so any donations of Luxury food items would be very gratefully received. The emphasis here is on Luxury!
 
And finally if there are any businesses out there who would like to donate a prize such as free meals, free hotel stays, free car service, free villa clean etc they too would be gratefully received.
 
We have already had some fabulous donations with prizes including 1000tl Supermarket Voucher, 500tl Meat Voucher, 500tl towards a car service and a few donations towards the Luxury Hamper but we need more please. Prizes can be dropped off at our Office in Karakum, Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm.
 
Raffle tickets are on sale at our Office/Gladrags in Karakum, our Charity Shops in Kyrenia Town Centre, our book stall at Lambousa Market, and our Rescue Centre. The majority of volunteers have a supply for sale too. They are 10tl each and as the saying goes “You’ve got to be in it to win it!”

KYRENIA ANIMAL RESCUE CHRISTMAS GROTTO AND CHRISTMAS MARKETS

We are having a Christmas Grotto and 2 Saturday Christmas Markets instead of our Grand Bazaar this year. Our Christmas Grotto has it’s Grand Opening on Monday 15 November at 10am at our Office/Gladrags premises in Karakum. There will be a surprise seasonal guest appearance to officially open the Grotto. The Grotto will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 09:30 to 1:00pm every week up until Christmas.
The Saturday Markets, also at our premises in Karakum ,will be on Saturday 27th November and Saturday 4th December from 10:00am to 1:00pm. There will be all the usual stalls that would have been at our Christmas Bazaar:
Bric-a-brac
Jewellry
Handbags
Childrens Toys
Linens
Christmas Decorations
to name but a few.

Thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback which was made all the more special when we found out Matt works at PAWS Dog Shelter in Paphos. Caring for animals knows no boundaries.
