We would like to send a great big thank you out to KADS for their very generous donation of medication for our rescue centre animals. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELAINE

UPDATE ON PITA

We would like to introduce you to PITA. Pita arrived in the UK on the 23.12, she had been at the centre for 6 years from 3months old. I help out at the centre when on holiday in August and November and have been helping for approx 9 years. Pita has always been a lively character who is so loving. Considering she has spent her life at the centre she has adapted to home life really well and was toilet trained within 3 days. She is a wonderful addition to our family. We have 2 other dogs Sid who is 8 and Daizy 3 who we also had from KAR nearly 2 years ago . Pita has had her first visit to our vets for a check up and the vet commented on what a lovely natured dog she is and in what beautiful, healthy condition she is in. The staff at KAR are amazing and their priority is always the needs of the dogs and cats in there care. If anyone reading this post is able to help out at the centre just a couple of hours a week it is so rewarding. I will keep you updated on Pitas progress

BELLE, BERRY AND BAILEY

These black beauties are Belle, Berry & Bailey (all girls) and they will soon be looking for their forever homes.
They had such an awful start in life – they were dumped overnight in a box outside Catalkoy Belediyesi. It was a very cold night so they were really lucky to have survived, poor babies. They were so tiny when they came to the centre, the staff had to make them vests out of childrens’ socks!
We’ve had them with us at the centre for about 3 weeks now. They have grown a bit, so they fit into tiny knitted coats that a volunteer kindly made for us – don’t they look cute? But the centre is not the ideal place for these puppies, it is very cold for such small pups. They will be having their first vaccinations next week so we would desperately love to find homes for them.
Please come along to the centre and meet the puppies if you think you might like to give one of them a home. We are open to visitors every day between 9am and 1pm. Please share for these 3 black cuties!

DOG REGISTRATION

DOG REGISTRATION REMINDER
It’s that time of year again when you need to register your dog with your local Belediyesi. This is a yearly requirement but only takes a few moments.

CHRISTMAS KITTENS

Just look at these beautiful kittens having fun with their new Christmas toys. Aren’t they just gorgeous?
Sad thing is these poor kittens do not have a home to call their own and are currently stuck in a bitterly cold and damp rescue centre high up in the mountains.
I know many of you think the dogs and cats in our rescue centre are the lucky ones but to be honest this is not the case as they are so very often over-looked in favour of others when it comes to re-homing. Our Rescue Centre should not be looked upon as a permanent home for any animal. It is freezing cold and damp in winter and so hot in summer. It is not a nice place to spend 12-15 years in not knowing the warmth of a home and loving owners of their own. The Rescue Centre was set up to take in the sick and vulnerable animals, nurse them back to health and then re-home them. Sadly for over 300 animals the re-homing bit hasn’t happened as they are so often over-looked as people think “oh they’re with KAR, they’re ok”. We are full to over-flowing, well over capacity and seriously struggling to find space for even the smallest animal that needs our help.
Please, please, please if you are looking for a dog, puppy, cat or kitten to give a loving home to please come and see our wonderful animals at the rescue centre. They are all vaccinated and neutered so you won’t have the expense and inconvenience of doing that yourself, and it will give us a chance to rescue other sick animals that may need our care. The centre is open 7 days a week from 9am to 1pm and you are guaranteed a warm, woofy welcome.
Please don’t let the rescue centre become a permanent home for Bugsy, Deniz, Jagger and Loki!!
